The kitchen at the Woodland Meeting House is well-equipped and prepared to cater an event of practically any size or style. We are happy to prepare and serve dinners for a birthday party or can set up buffet-style dining for a crowd as large as 150 people. For outdoor picnics the capacity of the facility is virtually unlimited. We can prepare any item on our regular Menu in bulk quantities at a reduced per-item price, and we are working on a Banquet Menu for this Website. In addition, we can partner with local food services that specialize in ocean fresh clambakes, Texas-style barbecues, and pig-roasts. We can customize a menu to fit your needs and your budget.
Who is the owner, and how do I schedule I meeting with her?
Woodland Meeting House is owned and operated by Lisa Mills, a graduate of Johnson & Wales food service program, She has several years experience in the restaurant business. She can be reached at the Woodland Meeting House at 401-647-3838. The best time to call is after 4 p.m. on weekdays, or after noon on the weekends.
How many people can the facility accommodate?
Woodland Meeting House can accommodate indoor functions ranging from 10 to 150 people and has virtually unlimited capacity for outdoor functions.
Is there a fee to rent the room?
A Room Rent fee applies for indoor events, and is based on the number of guests.
How long do I have the room?
This is dependent upon the time of day of your function. We cannot remain open later than 1 a.m., and the kitchen closes by 10 p.m. If you schedule early, even full-day events can be held.
Can we just rent the Events Room for the night?
As a full-service restaurant as well as a bar, we generally do not rent out our facilities alone without purchase of food or beverage items. However, we do recognize that you may have different needs. For example, our Event Room would be suitable for an awards ceremony or marketing presentation. In this case, there would be a higher room rental rate and the space may not be suitable for this purpose when the bar is busy.
Can we bring our own food or beverages?
We are sorry, but you must have prior permission to bring in your own prepared food and we generally cannot allow home-cooked items (some exceptions can be made). We can serve your prepared appetizers or desserts with payment of an additional servicing fee. You may not bring in your own beverages, and no liquor can leave the premises at the conclusion of the event. RI Law prohibits any liquor being brought onto the premises for distribution (example liquor favors).
We do allow you to choose a licensed food service professional to cater your event if our kitchen cannot prepare your desired menu items or your needs exceed our kitchen’s capacity.
When can I access the room to decorate?
We can guarantee access to the indoor dining room several hours before your function to provide you with ample time to finish decorating. If requested, we can assist in arranging seating to provide for a dancing or presentation area. If there are no other events scheduled on the prior day, you may have access to the room the night before your event (especially for afternoon events).
