The grounds are on the foothills of Mt. Hygeia, former U.S. Senator Stephen Foster’s estate located in northern Foster, Rhode Island.
Built in 1875, this building was an inn and a popular stop for travelers. A storied past, most of which is lost to history, brought the property to the present day and the present owner.
The owner of the former Maple Glen Inn retired in 2004 and sold the property to Lisa Mills, formerly of Vermont. After extensive interior renovations, Lisa opened the Woodland Meeting House as a tavern and pub-style restaurant.
